3 Ways to Market Your Small Business

Alliance Virtual Offices asked me to share my experiences starting my small business. Like so many other business owners and entrepreneurs, when I started, I was LOST.

When starting a new company, there are thousands of articles and tips to help you with your marketing, and honestly, there are too many to count. I ended up with a to-do list of 15 items and absolutely no idea how to start.

To save you time and frustration, I put together a list of the three best ways to market a small business, and I even let you in on a big secret…how to actually start!

Networking

Networking is a lengthy process and requires a time commitment. It’s SLOW but necessary. Networking gets your brand out there. You get to tell people who you are, what you do, and what your business is all about. A strong network is one of the greatest assets you can have.

Build a Marketing Email List

While networking, chances are you’ll get to meet sooooo many cool people. Some will align with your business interests as partners, and others may be perfect customers for your product or service. As you meet those people, start putting together an email marketing list. A good email marketing list keeps the people who are interested in you and your business in the know. You can send out updates, promos, newsletters, and more.

Collaborate

Work with others. Volunteer to write guest posts or be featured on podcasts, Instagram Lives, etc. Collaborating with friends or other people in your field is a great way to introduce yourself to a new audience, attract other people to your network, and hopefully, have them sign up for your email list – see how this all starts piecing together?

Getting Started on Marketing Your Small Business

Now that you have the tips, here’s the big question. How? How do you network? Or build an email marketing list? Or collaborate?

Each of these tips has one thing in common: you need to get out of your shell, you need to leave your home office, you need to meet other people, and you need to find those opportunities.

When I first started marketing my small business, I was really anxious. I didn’t know how to do any of this, I didn’t know how to meet people, and I was super uncomfortable introducing myself to people because I didn’t want to come off as too “salesy.” What I wish I knew then (and what I know now) is that a really easy way to meet people is to join a coworking space.

There are so many benefits to coworking spaces like those offered by Alliance Virtual Offices. Coworking spaces are filled with like-minded people who are also growing their businesses. They also have a to-do list of ways to grow their business, and who says you can’t work together to complete it! It’s also affordable, which is great when you’re just starting a business.

Alliance Virtual Offices offers professionally managed workspaces and virtual offices for remote teams and work-anywhere entrepreneurs. When you rent a coworking space, you can leave your home office, meet other small business owners (ding, ding, ding networking!), and build relationships (also known as growing your email marketing list!).

Alliance Virtual Offices is an excellent option for entrepreneurs – they offer a productive environment and a built-in community. The opportunities are endless. You can look into networking opportunities, public speaking opportunities, and you can start asking for referrals.

There is no better way to grow your business than to get out there and introduce yourself – and the easiest way to do that is to surround yourself with people who have the same goals as you.
